SMG Hires Tammy Sweeney as General Manager of Canalta Centre
Medicine Hat, AB (January 18, 2018) - SMG Canada is pleased to announce that Tammy Sweeney has been named General Manager of the Canalta Centre in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. Sweeney will be joining the Canalta Centre team on January 22nd.
A 12 year veteran of the facility management and hospitality industry, Sweeney has spent the majority of her professional career in Ontario, Canada, including a senior management position at Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls, ON, where she was part of the opening team. Sweeney’s professional experience includes various leadership positions at Niagara Casinos in Niagara Falls, from 2006 to 2010. Most recently, she has served as CEO of the Women In Leadership & Business Conference, providing oversight and management of the national conference. She has worked with leaders for over 20 years to help them build stronger teams and stronger organizations.
With a Bachelor of Education from Brock University and an Honors Bachelor of Arts from the University of Waterloo, Sweeney also is a graduate of the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM) Venue Management School and has attended IAVM’s Senior Executive Symposium at the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University in New York.
